United Airlines confirmed that it raised by $50 to $200 the change fee on domestic U.S. tickets. In some South American markets, the fee has increased to $300 from $250. At this point no other airlines have matched this change fee increase, but many analysts anticipate such as airlines continue to look for ways to increase their revenues.

American Airlines grounded all its flights Tuesday afternoon after experiencing nationwide outages in its reservation system. The carrier-instituted ground delay is scheduled to be lifted at 5pm Eastern. “American’s reservation system is experiencing intermittent outages,” American Airlines spokesperson Andrea Huguely told NBC News. “We’re working to resolve the issue as quickly as we can.”
